TUoS Customer Workshop 31st May 2010
EirGrid hosted its first TUos Workshop on 31st May. It was held in the Conference Centre at the EirGrid offices. The presentation below gives an overview of the Statement of Charges, Demand and Generation Tariffs and Invoicing.
East- West Interconnector lecture to Engineers Ireland 26th April 2010
View the presentation made to Engineers Ireland April 26th by John Fitzgerald, project director, and Brian Williams, technical lead, both of EirGrid. The presentation covers the technical and management features of what is the largest HVDC project of its kind in the world, including - project scoping; integrated route selection; marine surveys; site selections and transmission connections. It also gives an overview of the competition process to secure the construction of the Interconnector, the technology options, the technical features, and the advantages of HVDC light, compared to traditional line commutated HVDC conversion.
EirGrid Group Annual Customer Conference & Workshop – 13th & 14th October 2009
EirGrid hosted its first Group Customer Conference titled ‘Providing a platform for a world class and competitive electricity industry, EirGrid – towards secure, sustainable and economic power’ in October of this year. The conference was followed by a half day technical workshop “2020 – A Collaborative Approach”. It was held in the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Santry. Presentations from the 2 days can be found below.

Winter Peak Demand Reduction Scheme (WPDRS) Workshops - September 2009
EirGrid is hosted two workshops aimed at giving an overview of WPDRS and the proposed changes for the 2009/10 season of the scheme in Cork and Dublin. Further information is downloadable from the

Locational Signals Workshop
EirGrid and SONI (the System Operators) held workshops in Dundalk to discuss the continuing review of the option and methodologies for deriving harmonised All-Island charges. These workshop provided an opportunity to market participants to articulate their positions with regard to locational regimes for All-Island Transmission Use of System Charges and Loss Factors.
Renewables Facilitation Forum
EirGrid and SONI have twice this year hosted a public forum where an overview of ongoing and future work and collaborations in the area of renewable facilitation was discussed. It gave an opportunity to industry representatives and customers to discuss the current issues around this topic.
Short Term Active Response (STAR) Workshop - May 2009
EirGrid hosted two workshops aimed at giving an overview of STAR programme in Limerick and Dublin in May.
Transmission Access Planning for Gate 3 Workshop - 2nd April 2009
The EirGrid invited customers and industry delegates to a workshop that would give them the opportunity to gain a greater appreciation and understanding of the methodology used to determine scheduled firm transmission capacity levels for Gate 3.
