Consultations
As part of the DS3 Programme, there is a need for consultation with industry stakeholders in certain workstreams of the programme. This section contains all such consultations.
System Services Review
Third Consultation - December 2012
EirGrid and SONI have published a third consultation paper on the System Services Review on Wednesday 19th December 2012, undertaken as part of the DS3 programme. In addition, the SEM Committee have published an associated cover note to this consultation on the All-Island Project website.
Responses to the consultation paper should be submitted by Wednesday, 13th February 2013 to DS3@eirgrid.com or DS3@soni.ltd.uk. A questionnaire has also been prepared to facilitate responses.
In conjunction with this consultation paper, EirGrid and SONI are offering bilateral meetings with interested parties. To register your interest and to indicate a range of preferred times and dates please complete this survey. We will then make contact with you to allocate one of the preferred options. We will aim to facilitate all meeting requests at your preferred times however we ask for your understanding in the event that we need to agree an alternative time and date. Slots will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the contents of the consultation paper. During recent bilateral discussions, EirGrid and SONI were requested to provide more modelling information that supports the approach and figures presented in the 3rd phase System Services consultation. Following discussions with the Regulatory Authorities, the attached information has been collated to meet this request in a short timeframe. The TSOs consider that the questions in the consultation can already be answered on principle grounds with the figures provided. Nevertheless this additional information may provide greater comfort to participants at this stage. In addition, the TSOs are compiling a comprehensive report, in parallel with the recommendations paper and consultation responses, to the Regulatory Authorities on the specific details of the model. It is expected further modelling information will be made available to participants in advance of any proposed decision on next steps by the SEM Committee.
Following feedback on the supplementary information on the System Services consultation, recognising the fact that this information was released close to the deadline for comments, EirGrid and SONI will facilitate an extension for those who wish to avail of one. Please email info@eirgrid.com or DS3@soni.ltd.uk as soon as possible if you wish to avail of a one week extension (close of business Wednesday, 20th February 2013).
Should you wish to respond to the consultation in line with the original deadline (Wednesday, 13th February 2013), please do so, as this will facilitate the DS3 team in progressing the next phase of this important workstream in a timely manner.
Following the one week extension the third System Services consultation period has now closed. 26 responses were received by the TSO's during this consultation period. The TSO's aim to produce a recommendation paper taking on board the feedback received during the consultation process. The TSO's will also produce a summary paper summarising the responses and providing clarity on some points which respondents had identified as requiring further information. These papers along with all non confidential consultation responses will be made available on the website in the coming weeks.

Second Consultation - June 2012
EirGrid and SONI published a second consultation paper on the System Services Review on the 8th of June 2012, undertaken as part of the DS3 programme. In addition, the SEM Committee published an associated cover note to this consultation on the All-Island Project website.
In conjunction with the publication of this paper, EirGrid and SONI held a System Services Forum in Dundalk on the 4th of July 2012.

Consultations
Northern Ireland Wind Farm Settings Schedule
SONI has issued a consultation on the proposed draft of the updated WFPS Settings Schedule for connecting Wind Farm Power Stations to the transmission system or the distribution system in Northern Ireland. The full consultation can be viewed here.
Northern Ireland Demand Side Unit Modification
SONI has issued a consultation on the proposed Grid Code Modifications in respect of Demand Side Units. The Consultation document, along with the proposed Grid Code modification is available below.
